Cale sells ferry tickets

Forsvarsbygg, the operator of the ferry boat service between the city of Drøbak and Oscarsborg Festning in Norway, wanted a solution for selling tickets in a more efficient way than manual sales previously handles by the ferry staff.

Forsvarsbygg envisaged a ticket terminal enabling payment with credit cards. They were however concerned about the tough environment that the terminal would be exposed to when installed on the quay including rain, salt water spray, wind and varying temperatures during all seasons.

The solution was a Cale MP 104 Compact for payment with credit cards. Communication with Cale WebOffice enables alarm processing, automatic processing of credit card transactions etc.

The risk of the terminal being a target for break-in is minimal as there are no coins inside.
